GUARDIANSHIP PROGRAM
We currently have 2 beautiful girls looking for their forever families through our Crupicoo Goldens Guardian Program.
Becoming a Guardian Family is a very special opportunity to welcome one of our carefully selected breeding dogs into your family, where she will live with you as your much-loved family pet while remaining part of our breeding program for a limited period of her life.
Our Guardian Program allows our dogs to grow up in loving family homes where they receive the individual attention, adventures, cuddles and everyday family life that every dog deserves, rather than us keeping a large number of breeding dogs at our own home.
Currently Available
10 Week Old Female Puppy
We currently have a beautiful 10 week old as a potential future addition to our
breeding program and will be placed with a family who will raise and love her as
their own.
Like all of our puppies, she has been raised through our Crupicoo puppy curriculum
and has received all of the early foundations we put into our puppies before they
leave us.
She will live permanently with her Guardian Family while remaining part of the
Crupicoo Goldens breeding program, provided she successfully completes all of her
required health testing when she is old enough.
1 Year Old Female
We also have a beautiful girl who is almost one year old looking for her Guardian
Family.
This may be a wonderful option for someone who would love to become part of our
Guardian Program but would prefer an older dog rather than starting with the very
young puppy stage.
She is ready to settle into her forever family and become someone’s much loved
companion while also remaining part of our future breeding plans, subject to her
required health testing.
What is the cost of our Guardian dogs?
Our Guardian dogs are offered to the right families at no upfront cost.
What Does Being a Guardian Family Mean?
Our Guardian Dogs are first and foremost family pets.
They live permanently with their Guardian Family and enjoy a completely normal life — sleeping at home with their family, going on adventures, receiving training, being loved and simply being part of everyday family life.
When one of our girls comes into season and is required for breeding, she returns to us or we meet at our Reproductive Vet for the necessary stages of our breeding program. When it is time for her to have her puppies, she returns to Crupicoo Goldens for whelping and remains in our care while raising her babies.
Once her breeding career is complete and all requirements of the Guardian Agreement have been fulfilled, she retires from our breeding program and remains with her Guardian Family permanently.
How Often Will My Guardian Dog Have a Litter?
Our Guardian Dogs are, first and foremost, much-loved family members, and their health, happiness and wellbeing will always come before our breeding program.
A female Guardian Dog will have a maximum of 4 litters throughout her entire breeding career, and often fewer, with no more than one litter per year. Having 4 litters is never a requirement or a guarantee. Every breeding decision is made individually and only if we are completely happy with her physical health, emotional wellbeing and recovery from her previous litter.
We also understand that not every girl is suited to motherhood, regardless of how wonderful she may be in every other way. If, after having a litter, we feel that she has not enjoyed motherhood, has found the experience particularly stressful, has not recovered as we would expect, or if any health or welfare concerns arise, we will always put her needs first. In consultation with our veterinarian where appropriate, we may make the decision to retire her from our breeding program early.
We will never continue breeding a Guardian Dog simply because she has not yet reached her maximum number of litters.
The dog in front of us will always be more important than the breeding plan.
Who Covers the Costs?
Crupicoo Goldens covers the costs directly associated with our Guardian Dog’s role within our breeding program. This includes her required breeding health testing, reproductive and breeding-related veterinary care, mating costs, pregnancy-related care, and the veterinary and other necessary costs associated with whelping and her post-whelping care.
Guardian Families are responsible for the same everyday expenses they would normally have when owning a family dog. This includes providing a high-quality diet, routine vaccinations and general veterinary care, worming and parasite prevention, grooming, training and all other normal day-to-day costs associated with caring for their dog.
At the completion of her breeding career, Crupicoo Goldens will also arrange and cover the cost of her spay. She will then enjoy the rest of her life exactly where she belongs — with the Guardian Family who has loved and cared for her throughout her journey.
Who Are We Looking For?
Our Guardian Program isn’t simply about finding a home for one of our dogs. We are looking for families who genuinely want to become part of the Crupicoo Goldens family and work alongside us throughout their dog’s breeding journey.
Our Guardian Families need to be comfortable maintaining regular communication with us, following our Guardian Agreement and making their dog available when required for health testing and breeding.
Most importantly, we are looking for someone who will love one of our girls wholeheartedly as a member of their family.
